Arched and shaped aluminium windows

Aluminium Bending Specialists is a UK based aluminium and non-ferrous metal bending company. The company’s unique method of bending allows it to bend pre-painted and thermally broken window sections up to 7,000mm in length and together with its in-house tool facility allows it to bend all the different sections offered by the UK and Irish system houses. ABS also offers fully fabricated round fixed / pivot windows, shaped, gothic arched and curved headed windows.

ABS specialise in the bending / curving of all types of aluminium extrusions / sections for a wide range of industries including the aluminium window fabricator sector. ABS is also the approved sub – contract aluminium bending company for major UK / Ireland System houses.

Due to the vast range of aluminium extrusions / sections that ABS curve, ABS has developed different types of bending processes to suit the different aluminium extrusions. The different bending processes are section ring rolling, draw bending, press bending, or the encapsulation bending process.

Gap in the market – The company was originally set up by Brian Bartram & Robert Pasierb, they saw a gap in the market for a specialised aluminium bending company with the emphasis on quality. In 2007 Brian retired, Greg Russell moved from being the Production manager to Production Director, and Robert Gavin joined ABS as the Sales Director. More recently in October 2012, Robert Pasierb retired leaving Greg Russell and Robert Gavin to lead the company forward and continue to improve on the bending techniques that have been developed over the past 25 years. During the past 25 years ABS has curved sections for some very prestigious projects such as Aviva Stadium, Dublin, Athletes Olympic village, London and the new production facility at McLaren Motor Sport to name but a few.  The current team of directors have nearly 50 years of experience in the curving of aluminium extrusions and are always looking to improve on past performances.

The company offers a wide range of shaped aluminium windows, working with major systems companies including Aluk, Smart, Schuco, Reynaers, Seniors, Metal Technology, Technal and Kawneer. ABS fabricates different shaped windows, ranging from gothic arched, castle windows, and curved bay suntrap windows. All aluminium shaped frames are fully welded and can be fabricated from any of the different aluminium systems available in the UK, as well as ABS’s own sections. When creating its bespoke curved windows, detail is everything. ABS ensures measurements are precise to give you a quality product that fits perfectly. The windows are finished to any standard RAL either single or dual colour. A clear advantage of the shaped windows that ABS fabricate, is that all the frames are welded. This offers a greater aesthetics in comparison to the standard cleating method, where visible join lines are seen.

A company spokesperson said: “At Aluminium Bending Specialists we design and manufacture all of our arched windows in-house with stringent quality control and an intricate eye for detail. We weld gothic arch window frames to provide a superior finish, leaving no joints or seams visible.

When designing the windows, we will gain a clear understanding of your overall project and work to your exact specifications to ensure that the fit is flawless. The bespoke windows are made using an energy efficient, thermally broken equal leg aluminium outer-frame which keeps your property insulated. The aluminium window frames are finished with a powder coating to any standard single or dual RAL colour. This high quality, weather-proof coating is designed to stand the test of time, ensuring your frames stay rich in colour.”

Round fixed and pivot windows – Also on offer is a bespoke range of aluminium round fixed and pivot windows. The circular aluminium windows are fabricated using thermally broken equal leg aluminium outer-frame. The frames are fully welded and these circular windows are all bespoke made and can be painted to any standard RAL either single or dual colour.  The minimum diameter on a fixed circular aluminium window is 300mm and the recommended maximum diameter is 1800mm. On a round pivot window, there is a minimum diameter of 600mm and a maximum diameter is 1500mm. The round windows can also have transom placed in them to offer designs such as a crucifix. The company can also offer bespoke aluminium porthole windows and much more.
