Carl F Groupco’s IT Manager Runs for Rosie

Steve Lamb, IT Manager for Carl F Groupco, has completed his first competitive half marathon, raising funds for the Kettering Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) who cared for his daughter Rosie.

Just eighteen months after taking up running as a hobby, he has succeeded in finishing the ‘Run Silverstone’ half marathon, which he completed in a personal best time of just under two hours. To make his efforts even more rewarding, he has raised over £400 to date for his local SCBU through a Just Giving page and cash donations.

Explaining his desire to help the unit, Steve said:

“I experienced first-hand the amazing work that the Special Care Baby Unit does as they cared for my daughter Rosie when she was born nine weeks prematurely weighing just 3.9lbs.  Rosie spent over four weeks in the unit and, without the skilful and meticulous attention of the nurses and doctors, it is unlikely that she would have survived. Rosie is now a very healthy, happy and active 10 year old girl but I will never forget how kind, helpful and caring the staff were.”
