Host and finalists announced for the industry’s G14 Awards Presentation event

KevinBridgesScottish comedian, Kevin Bridges, whom Billy Connolly has dubbed as ‘brilliant’ will host the G14 Awards Presentation at the London Hilton on Park Lane, London, on Friday 21 November.

Kevin first made his debut at the Edinburgh Playhouse on BBC1’s Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow in 2009 and was an immediate sensation, selling out his run at the Festival in just one day. His astonishing rise continued in 2010 when he recorded his debut DVD as a sold-out Glasgow SECC Arena in front of an audience of ten thousand. The DVD was released in November 2010 and out-sold Frankie Boyle and Billy Connolly.

In 2011 he became the host of Channel 4’s Stand Up For The Week and headlined an episode of Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow from the Glasgow King’s Theatre. In 2012 he also hosted the long-running series of Live At The Apollo and presented his own six-part documentary, Kevin Bridges – What’s The Story for BBC1.

His second DVD, Kevin Bridges – The Story Continues, was a top five best seller in 2012 and he had a sell out tour of Australia earlier this year. His autobiography was released in early October and a 2015 tour has just been announced.

Speaking about the confirmation of such a popular new talent, Tony Higgin, organiser of the G14 Awards says, “Kevin Bridges is an exciting young comedian, and promises to entertain in the fashion to which we have become accustomed at the G-Awards. I’m sure our guests will give him as warm a welcome as they have done in previous years.”

As the G14 Awards approaches, this year’s finalists have also been announced. The 2014 event will be the eleventh annual celebration of industry excellence and the standard is as high as it has ever been. Tony Higgin, organiser of the G14 Awards, comments, “Every year I am amazed at the number and quality of entries that are submitted for the Awards. For me it underlines how important the G14 Awards are in being able to publicly recognise the efforts and achievements of our industry. I would like to offer my congratulations to all finalists.
