Origin wins Best SME and Best Service in the Best Business Awards
Origin, an award winning British manufacturer of aluminium bi-fold doors, windows and blinds, has been awarded Best Small to Medium Sized Business and Best Service in the Best Business Awards.
The Best Business Awards, one of the UKs highest profile awards, acknowledged that Origin is amongst the best in the country for outstanding products and customers service. Winning the Best SME Business award recognises the strength of the company’s management team and support offered by Origin to its trade partners to fuel their individual business growth.
Neil Ginger, CEO of Origin, said: “To win not one, but two accolades at the Best Business Awards is a great honour and we’re proud to sit alongside Britain’s most successful businesses as winners at the awards. We strive for the very best customer service and have turned manufacturing on its head to meet the needs of our trade partners through our ‘Your Lead Time, Not Ours’ service. This has allowed us to grow as a business, both in the UK and overseas, as well as supported the trade. Winning the Best Business awards is testament to our commitment to putting the customer right at the heart of what we do.”
Origin was awarded Best Small to Medium Size Business for its outstanding product, coupled with great people, innovative marketing and customer service. Stephanie Joines, Chairman of the Judges, commented: “As a manufacturer of bi-fold doors, windows and blinds, Origin’s incredible growth spurt is hinged on its zero lead-time service, which puts customers in control of delivery time. In an industry with a standard lead time of six to eight weeks, Origin can even deliver in 24 hours and it is its competitive delivery times that have set itself apart from competitors. It has also doubled the standard guarantee to 20 years and the after sales service is second to none. Not surprisingly, home sales and exports are going through the roof. Origin is a rising star on track for even greater things.”
The Best Product or Service category spans not just innovation but also pricing, after sales service, design or performance. The category is open to all organisations that have developed a niche or mass market product or service with a clear business edge.
The judges have no doubt been impressed by Origin’s inventive approach to manufacturing, which has seen the company build its entire business model around the needs of its customers.
Joins said: “Origin have revolutionised lead times in the delivery of bespoke aluminium folding sliding doors thanks to a major investment in business processes and its factory workshops to streamline production. As a result of introducing highly efficient lean manufacturing, Origin are able to offer their customers products on demand – a breakthrough for an industry where customers traditionally have to wait up to eight weeks for doors to be delivered and installed. The company has seen production increase by 50% as it has penetrated new markets including the opening of a new factory in America this year. Very well done to Origin for the transformation it has achieved in service and reducing lead times to customers.”
