Sliders UK chooses Emmegi machining centre

The company has been so pleased with that choice that it is now considering the purchase of an additional Emmegi machine to help to manage its expansion in aluminium.

Sliders UK is using the T3A Phantomatic to fabricate its successful Ultimate Aluminium range of bi-folds, patio doors, French doors and windows in AluK profile at its 40,000 sq ft factory in Bamber Bridge, near Preston.

The many automatic features on the machine make it the ideal choice for fabricators using aluminium for the first time.  It has an automatically positioned clamp unit and a high torque 5.5kW electro-spindle, as well as a circular tool magazine which takes up less space and allows for positioning of very large extruded sections.  A mobile work surface makes the loading and unloading operation quick and easy and significantly increases the workable section.

Before choosing the machine, Sliders UK’s joint Managing Director Mike Spain and his production team visited other fabricators in the region who were already Emmegi customers to evaluate their experiences.

They were impressed with the positive feedback from these companies, particularly about the quality and durability of the machines and, most crucially, about the service and responsiveness of Emmegi’s sales and service teams.

Mike Spain said:  “This was the first Emmegi machine we had bought so we wanted to be sure we were making the right investment.  We spoke directly to other fabricators, saw their machines in operation and talked to them about the support they had received from Emmegi in the UK.

“Obviously, the machining centre represented a vital element in our Ultimate Aluminium launch project and both Emmegi themselves and their existing customers helped to convince us that it could deliver the quality and reliability and service which we required.

“Since it has been installed, we have been pleased that the machine and the Emmegi team have delivered exactly what was promised, and we are now planning to invest in another Emmegi machine on the basis of how well this one is performing.”

Emmegi UK’s Managing Director Ian Latimer added:  “We are always happy to provide testimonials and to arrange factory visits for any potential buyers.  With so many Emmegi machines now in place at companies fabricating in aluminium around the UK, they don’t even need to travel far.”
