91 riders sign up for GM Fundraising’s GMF100 cycling challenge

Industry charity fundraiser GM Fundraising has announced that 91 riders have now signed for their new GMF100 cycling challenge, which is taking place on Sunday 8th August, 2021. All funds raised will go to Hope House Children’s Hospices, which provides palliative care for children with life-limiting conditions and support for their families, both on site and in their homes.

Gary Morton, GM Fundraising’s founder, said: “We’re delighted so many people have signed up for this new challenge and it demonstrates the strength of this industry in coming together to help raise some vital funds for Hope House at this time. We’re all looking forward to the event.”

The 91 riders represent thirteen companies: Epwin Window Systems, Central Window Systems, Liniar, Glazerite, Mila, Window Widgets, Quickslide, Kubu, Reynaers Aluminium, Window Ware, ERA, Zoo Hardware and Kelly’s Heroes. Each team will cycle 100 miles between them on Sunday 8th August from their factory or premises.

Fundraising for the event is now open and donations can be made at https://justgiving.com/team/GMF100.

The event is being sponsored by Epwin Window Systems. Clare O’Hara, Managing Director of Epwin Window Systems, said: “It’s been a challenging 18 months for Hope House Children’s Hospices during the Covid pandemic with various fundraising events either being postponed or cancelled.  We are therefore delighted to be able to sponsor this new event and help raise some much-needed funds at the same time.”

The mission of Hope House Children’s Hospices is to ensure that no one should face the death of a child alone. It costs £6.5 million every year to run its services and 86% of this is spent on care. Over 95% of Hope House’s annual costs are met through charitable donations and GM Fundraising is its largest single donor. Since it was established in 1995, GM Fundraising has raised over £2 million for Hope House Children’s Hospices.

Gary concludes: “The GMF100 cycling challenge is a new event for us, but it’s proving popular. More importantly, it gives us a way to continue our mission of putting the fun into fundraising whilst generating a vital stream of income for our charity.”
