AluK’s 58BW flush windows gain approval for conservation area use

The owners of a stunning, one-of-a-kind detached property in a Lincolnshire village conservation area wanted to replace their draughty, leaded-light timber windows with low maintenance, energy-efficient slimline aluminium. They were recommended Tradeglaze, an award-winning fabricator and installer based in Lincoln. Tradeglaze specified stylish new frames using AluK’s 58BW Flush HI window system and helped the owners obtain approval from the conservation officer.

The homeowners praised the team with a five-star review: “Thank you to the sales team for great communications, the manufacturing team for crafting a perfect product and the installation team for an incredible service.” The sleek look and clean lines of the 58BW Flush HI have enhanced the property, bringing in extra light.

Tradeglaze Head of Sales, Jonathan Brewer, says, “We are proud to be part of the transformation of this unique property. The AluK 58BW Flush HI window system was the perfect choice, offering both aesthetic appeal and practical benefits. Our dedication to quality craftsmanship and excellent service resulted in a successful project, and we are delighted with the positive feedback from the homeowners.”

With 46mm sightlines, flush sashes and a sharp shadow line, the AluK 58BW Flush HI windows are a natural replacement for timber – replicating not just the overall look of the timber originals, but the detailing as well. The double rebated Flush is a variant of AluK’s tested, tried and trusted 58BW HI window range, which allows fabricators to manufacture a range of window styles – from casement and tilt and turn to Heritage steel replacements using the same set of core components.

Originally, the timber windows on the property were dark brown, but the owners had been painting them cream to give their property a more contemporary look. They wanted to keep this more modern colour palette in the 58BW HI aluminium replacements, so Tradeglaze recommended RAL9010M for a similar ivory finish – with no more painting required.

Tradeglaze is an award-winning trade and commercial fabricator, with a specialist retail installation arm trading as Jackson Windows. The group also owns Allenby Glass, a glass factory producing double glazed units for Tradeglaze and Jackson Windows projects. The Tradeglaze group focuses on innovation and has invested heavily in production and technology, recently completing a £500k+ upgrade of their machinery portfolio. With several local and national industry accolades and a raft of five-star customer reviews, the company has an excellent reputation in the East Midlands region for quality products and impeccable customer service.
