Astraseal survives mobilegeddon with a little help from Purplex

If you haven’t got a mobile optimised website you may want to look away now…On April 21st Google changed its algorithm to increase search rankings for mobile optimised websites and reduce the rankings of those which aren’t. With millions of businesses now expecting to see a dramatic reduction in web traffic, enquiries and sales, it’s no surprise some internet pundits have dubbed this change ‘mobilegeddon.’

Considering less than 10% of all 15,000 fabricators and installers have a mobile optimised website, this change spelt disaster for the window industry, but Wellingborough-based fabricator Astraseal had no need for concern. Prior to April 21st they teamed up with window industry marketing specialists Purplex and launched a mobile optimised website just as the Google change came into force. Astraseal’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Zachary Nedimovic comments: “The Astraseal website is an important tool for my sales team and when Google announced they were going to change their algorithm I realised we urgently needed to strengthen our online presence. With their vast industry experience and impressive marketing resources, Purplex were the obvious choice so I contacted MD Andrew Scott to see if his team could help. Purplex recommended we go for a fully responsive website, meaning the site re-scales and re-sizes to fit the screen of the device it’s viewed on, providing a better user experience. Our website is now fully future- proofed and our online lead volumes have doubled – I’m absolutely delighted with the finished product.”

One of the key features on the new website is a series of ‘sales engagement’ tools, which allow installers to get a quick bi-fold, sash window or composite door quote. Adi Day, Head of digital marketing at Purplex commented: “Sales engagement tools such as window and door builders increase website response rates by up to 200% so we recommended Astraseal opt to have one in their site. Installers like them because they can get a quick price comparison and they’ve already generated quality trade leads for Zac and his sales force.” The website is spilt into four sections, trade, commercial, retail and group. The trade section showcases the full range of trade products including Rehau PVC-U and Smarts and Reynaers aluminium windows and doors. It also lists specialist products and services such as curtain walling, fire doors and in-house spray colour facilities. Visitors can find technical information on these products on the Astraseal downloads page, which also includes digital brochures, product certificates and guarantees, installation guides and more.
