David Hartland, new MD at Central RPL

One-stop shop fabricators Central RPL are welcoming an experienced new Managing Director, who wants to drive greater efficiency and growth in the months ahead.

David Hartland spent 23 years at the £800m induction melting group Inductotherm, first running the company’s European division, then later assuming responsibility for its operations in China.

He then moved on to Vacuum Furnace Engineering, where he ran a team of 400, before joining MCS Control Systems in Coventry. He has also worked for Dubai-based Lucy Electric.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining one of the UK’s most forward-thinking and customer-focused fabricators,” comments David.

“The team have given us a fantastic foundation to build on in the coming years, and in my role, it’ll be very much an evolution rather than a revolution.

“We’ve got some very clear aims for what we want to achieve in the coming months. We are going to be taking a number of steps to improve efficiency, which we’re confident will go on to drive steady growth in the future.

“2020 has been one of the strangest years in the history of our sector, and no-one knows exactly what lies around the corner. But for now, glass and glazing is flying.

“Coronavirus and the months spent in lockdown seem to have shifted consumer priorities. Spending habits have changed, and people want more space and light in their homes.

“For installers, this represents a massive opportunity – and at Central, we want to equip them with everything they need to capitalise on it.”

Group CEO, Gary Morton comments: “David’s 35 years spent running manufacturing companies will be an enormous asset. Central’s senior team have over a century of fenestration sector expertise – but sometimes, it can be hugely valuable to get a fresh perspective from outside the window and door sector.

“That’s exactly what David can provide.”

Central RPL offer a market-leading selection of quality products from Profile 22’s Optima range.
