FIT Show event director, Nickie West responds to Fensterbau 2022 Announcement

“FIT Show once again supports the Fensterbau organisers’ recently announced decision to cancel the 2020 edition of the show, returning in 2022. At the time of pushing the event back to June 2020, no one could have predicted the global impact that COVID-19 would, and continues, to have.

“The organisers have offered continuity and stability for the industry by retaining the biennial sequence (from 29 March to 1 April 2022) in Nuremberg, which works with and complements the frequency of FIT Show, which returns in May 2021 (25 to 27) at the NEC, UK.

“I couldn’t agree more with the comments of event director, Stefan Dittrich. I, too, echo that the need for information, exchange and personal contact will be greater than ever after this crisis. Our industry, by its very nature, thrives on social and physical interactions – touching, seeing and feeling products. Trade shows and exhibitions will be a vital platform to help brands reconnect with their audiences and play an important role in helping to reignite business success.

“As it stands, FIT Show 2021 will be one of the first major european industry events to have taken place for two years. We are very much looking ahead to a more prosperous time for the entire industry and look forward to reconnecting the marketplace and bringing the various products and services to life at FIT Show next May.

“I’ve been massively impressed with the way the events industry as a whole has responded to the current crisis. It takes four days to build up two halls for FIT Show, but in just two weeks our industry transformed the entire ExCeL Centre into a full operational hospital with 4,000 beds. The same is now happening at exhibition centres across the country, with FIT Show’s very own home at the NEC set to open its doors And what a transformation we will see, again, when we open the doors on FIT Show 21.

“And the fenestration industry is going above and beyond to help in the current crisis too. From offering advice and support to our peers, redirecting publications to home offices and adapting production lines to help meet urgent demand for products to protect people against coronavirus. People are pulling together and playing their part in every corner of the industry. We are extremely proud to be a part of this amazing sector.

“On behalf of the whole FIT Show team, we would like to once again extend our support to the Fensterbau team and its exhibitors . We are looking forward to supporting the event when it returns in 2022.”
