G14 Award winners announced at glitzy gala event in London’s Park Lane

Twelve worthy winners stood on stage at the G14 Awards Presentation & Gala Dinner in November, in addition to this year’s recipient of the Derek Bonnard Award for Excellence. While the event is all about innovation, development and commitment within glass and glazing industry, it is not all serious – it was hosted by the entertaining Kevin Bridges who brought his unique humour to the proceedings.

Tony Higgin, organiser of the G-Awards, spoke about this year’s winners calling them all “outstanding”. He continued: “After eleven years, the G-Awards are still going strong thanks to the continuously excellent standard of entries we receive. Each year I wonder how we can beat the previous one, but it happens every time. All our finalists should be extremely proud, and our winners represent everything to which we all aspire in terms of commitment, dedication and passion. This is what makes our industry great.”

The G14 Award winners are:

Commercial Project of the Year: Pilkington UK for the Stonehenge Visitor Centre

Component Supplier of the Year: ERA

Conservatory Installer of the Year: T&K Home Improvements

The Derek Bonnard Award for Excellence was presented to Gary Morton from GM Fundraising to recognise not just his contribution to the glazing industry, but also for his extraordinary leadership in raising over £1 million for Hope House Children’s Hospice. Joe Hague, managing director of Award sponsor Promac Group, comments, “Gary was the perfect choice for the Derek Bonnard Award this year. Promac was an early supporter of GM Fundraising and we have watched in amazement at his energy and effort in raising such a huge amount of money for children with life-limiting illnesses. It is an astonishing achievement.”
