Glass company owner chooses Bohle balustrades

Chris Webster, joint owner of Matlock Glass in Derbyshire, recently installed the VetroMount balustrade system from Bohle on his own home, to make the most of the expansive views across the countryside.

“We’ve been supplying the VetroMount balustrade to customers for about five years now,” Chris said. “It’s a very popular product, because it looks great and it is easy to fit.

“We offer full technical support to our customers for all products we supply, so it’s important that I keep my hand in! In this case, we bolted the VetroMount balustrade into concrete with stainless steel rods.”

Bohle’s VetroMount balustrade system is now available with a 1.5kN line-loading, which makes it suitable for the growing retail, hospitality and commercial market, as well as for domestic use.

VetroMount is available in a standard face or floor fixing option; a flush-finish; and a third, ‘Y’ shaped channel, which tapers down to the face of the substrate, to create a clean minimalist finish.

Each minimises fixings, while making installation simple using Bohle’s patented zip-fix technology and cradle to hold the glass firmly in the channel. This also makes alignment easy, with simple adjustment.

Available in standard 2.5m and 5m lengths, VetroMount accommodates glass thickness of up to 21.5mm. It’s also counterbored, which means its suitable for use with standard, rather than more expensive counter-fix fixings.

Chris said Matlock Glass has been a Bohle customer for as long as he has worked at the company, which is at least 35 years.

“We’ve never had a problem with Bohle,” Chris said. “They supply us with a lot of their products, including glass cleaner, D-clamps, shower U-sections and glass cutters. We’re a small old-school glass company, and we rely on Bohle’s reliable customer service to keep operating efficiently.”

Chris runs Matlock Glass with his business partner Josh Hicks. Between them they supply a wide range of products to customers, as well as taking on supply and fit projects. Products include mirrors, double and triple glazed units, and aluminium and PVC-U windows and doors.
