As Dave says, the SMR-4 grew out of a desire to solve the traditional problems with welding. As every fabricator will know, the biggest of these problems is corner weld misalignment. Accurate welds require the experience of a skilled operator if you want to avoid costly remakes. The SMR-4 auto-aligns corners as well as transoms without using set squares or aligning tools, even if the arrow head is slightly out, removing the need for a skilled operator and saving time and money in remakes.
Other features include automatic transom fences, automatic corner fences and automatic transom and mullion alignment, all of which dramatically speed up the production process and increase quality. The welder also offers a retracting middle corner fence and three square welding while drop-down support arms help to anchor small frames, making the production of these much easier. Finally, an on-screen window display makes checking progress straightforward.
To help fabricators see the benefit of the machine for themselves, Haffner Murat has recently produced a video showing it in action. It can be seen on YouTube by searching for “Haffner Murat SMR-4 Welding Machine” and is also available to view on www.haffnergb.com/news. Dave says: “Many fabricators can’t believe their eyes when they see what the machine can do. If you’ve heard about the machine but are sceptical about the claims, I urge you to watch the video and prepare to be amazed!” Haffner Murat’s reputation is for machines that add value to a fabrication plant by improving speed and quality. And as the SMR-4 welder’s rapidly growing sales show, it’s enhancing that reputation still further.
