Neil Ginger, CEO of Origin, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating such a significant milestone to end what has already been a successful year for Origin, with the launch of the new Origin Window and opening operations in America and Germany. We’ve had a fantastic year and this is the icing on the cake – quite literally! The team will be celebrating in the factory to mark the occasion.”
The milestone signifies that Origin has made enough bi-folding doors to create over seven thousand square miles of beautiful views in homes across Britain since the company was established in 2001. In fact, Origin has manufactured so many doors it would take Commonwealth Gold medallist and Origin Athlete, Fran Halsall, over 13 hours to swim the 90,000 metre width of all the doors.
Origin has used enough aluminium profile for King Kong to climb, with the total weight equalling 943 London Double Decker buses. The width of the doors can span the circumference of the London Eye 213 times, plus the height is equivalent to 682 Shard skyscrapers.
The family business was founded by cousins Neil Ginger and Victoria Brocklesby, who found they could not source high quality folding sliding doors for building projects. Their ambitious solution was to establish a company and manufacture the UK’s best quality doors with uncompromising levels of service.
Origin has grown to become the UK’s leading manufacturer of bi-folding doors and is the only company in the world to offer zero lead time on a completely bespoke product, thanks to its pioneering ‘Your Lead Time, Not Ours’ service. Today, the company is an £17 million turnover company with operations in Dubai and the US, and has this year extended its offering by introducing a new flush casement aluminium window system to match the high quality Origin Bi-fold Door.
