Positive start for South-West’s MWD Trade Frames as ‘great British Revival’ kicks in

A South West fabricator is celebrating a positive start to 2014. MWD Trade Frames the manufacturing arm of the Majestic Group, which is now in its eleventh year of making Duraflex products, has reported that sales are 18 per cent up on the same time last year, for quarter one of this year.

The good news comes off the back of the Prime Minister’s recent comments that the economy is enjoying ‘a great British Revival’.

Mr Cameron said the UK’s fortunes had turned around since 2010, following a strong upturn in manufacturing, exports and employment.

MWD manufacture and supply Duraflex casement windows, Residential, bi-folding and composite doors, vertical sliding sash windows and patios.

Director Jim Martin says that new customers coming on board; and returning confidence amongst its current clients and the general public is behind the good news.

He comments: “It appears that confidence is returning to the UK economy and homeowners are investing in improving their properties. This is fuelling demand and creating opportunities for installers to win new business. Couple this upturn with our commitment to ensuring the very best product quality, fast turnaround and comprehensive service; and you have a recipe for growth for installers.”

In the last few months MWD Trade Frames has undergone a major investment programme; moving to new premises and investing in new product lines and staff development.

MWD are also an environmentally friendly and a ‘thoroughly British’ company. The profile they buy is extruded locally in Tewkesbury; the glass they buy is from Mid-Devon Glass; and all the hardware and locks they use are British made.

Jim concludes: “We source all our products where possible from British companies, many of which are locally based. This allows us to offer a fast-turnaround, control supply and ensure the very best quality. This approach has played its part in our flying start to 2014 and we anticipate strong growth going forward.”
