Aluplast customer, Affordable Window Systems, has reported sales growth of 20% year on year for its flush casement offering.
Affordable, which operates from a state of the art 200,000ft2 facility in Lancashire, is one of the UK’s largest suppliers of PVC and aluminium fenestration products. It produces around 2,000 PVC-U frames per week, 15% of which is dedicated to the manufacture of aluplast’s flush sash.
Available with a choice of standard and heritage deep bottom rail, aluplast’s flush casement can also be optioned with mechanical jointing, a defining feature of Affordable’s market leading offer.
Branded as Timberlook, this incorporates Timberweld corner jointing technology for a full mechanical finish externally and internally.
Phil Myers, Sales Director, Affordable Window Systems, said: “We’ve seen a big uptake in demand for flush sash, and while the majority of our output for PVC is still for standard casements, flush accounts for as much as 40% of sales value.
“Our Timberlook window is the result of considerable investment, it’s a high performance system with a lot of attention to detail,” continued Phil. “It combines the Timberweld 90-degree mechanical joint with aluplast’s ovolo profile on the interior frame and it can be optioned with a head drip on the outerframe, designed to conceal trickle vents if they are specified.
“It also features a unique night ventilation feature, which means it can be left part open, while remaining secure and we have recently introduced new hardware upgrades and a transom weatherbar.
“The quality of aluplast’s system, and the strength of its foil offering, have been key to the success of Timberlook,” concluded Phil. “95% of orders are optioned with a foil. That’s helped to ensure that it’s a highly authentic solution for period properties in conservation areas, as well as more contemporary homes.”
aluplast’s flush casement has recently been upgraded to feature slimmer sightlines, and to make it easier and faster to fabricate by simplifying the process of hardware and gasket application.
It’s available in aluplast’s full range of 40 finishes, including the new aludec and woodec foils, and is also compatible with ecotech, the system company’s ‘green’ solution that locks recycled material away from structural elements of the profile.
