Solid roofs join EYG’s expanding range

EYG Home Improvement Glazing Solutions celebrate 45th anniversary with the launch of a new range of solid roof conservatories

East Yorkshire-based EYG Home Improvements is celebrating its 45th anniversary and reports continued growth after launching several new products in the past 12 months. The firm, which employs more than 300 people and turns over in excess of £20 million each year, launched its range of solid conservatory roofs a year ago and is seeing strong growth in this field. Partnering with well-known PVC-U systems supplier Eurocell, EYG fabricates a range of increasingly popular roofs, which include the Skypod, Lantern, Rooflite, and the new Hybrid. The range has seen EYG’s turnover soar in recent months as trade customers realise the huge selling potential of this growing area. Joint Managing Director Nick Ward said: “Our trade customers are selling these at a fast rate, as there is a growing demand from customers, who want the thermal benefits of a solid roof – which transforms their conservatory into an all-weather room – with the aesthetic appeal of a traditional glass roof.

“Eurocell supplies us with a fantastic quality product and we have been thrilled with the feedback from customers, and the demand for them, which has exceeded all of our expectations.” The new Hybrid roof launched at the end of October and, backed by a local radio advertising campaign, saw instant sales. The Hybrid combines glass panels with aluminium panels, giving a thermally efficient roof that lets in light. Trade Manager Tim Hotte said: “There is a real buzz around the roof range, and the Hybrid has been an instant hit with people who are loving the look of it, alongside how thermally efficient it is. “Our trade customers that have seen the new hybrid roof are really excited about it and can see the scope for selling it to the mass market. They retro-fit onto existing conservatories and with winter approaching, they’re a fantastic addition to your home, giving you the benefit of a room to use even on the coldest days.”

EYG Trade has recently opened a new showroom on Wiltshire Road, Gipsyville, Hull, which has their full product range from lantern, tiled and skypod roofs, to their extensive range of windows and doors. The company also achieved Secured By Design accreditation earlier this year – homes and premises featuring SBD products are half as likely to be burgled and show a 25 per cent reduction in criminal damage.
