SWC celebrates 25 years trading by honouring Scarborough community

SWC, Scarborough’s award-winning fabricator of Halo window systems, recently teamed up with Yorkshire Coast Radio to honour the community that supported its first 25 years of service. Local residents were invited to submit ‘wishes’ via a dedicated page on the station’s website, where they were added to SWC’s ‘Wish List’. For its part, the North Yorkshire company pledged to fulfil as many requests as it could. A family-run company, SWC has seen year-on-year growth since its inception in a tiny, first floor office in 1989.

MD, Susan Richings, elaborates: “This has been our most successful year, and continues a course of growth that even weathered the economic downturn. Accepting the G13 Fabricator of the Year award was definitely a highlight; it was great to see our dedication to improving the business recognised.” The company’s 70,000 square foot facility on Scarborough’s Dunslow Road now employs over 100 staff; testament to SWC’s philosophy of “Building the Future Together”. Perpetual reinvestment has kept them at the cutting edge of the industry, alongside their advocacy of the trusted Halo system: “Fabricating using the Halo profile has been a great benefit for SWC,”

Susan continues. “Customers can see our belief in the system, and it’s reflected in the amount of return business we get. It’s much easier to grow with that kind of stability behind you!” Valuing partnerships has been integral to SWC’s success, and its work with local and national charities acknowledges the importance of community support. The Wish List was another way for SWC to thank those that helped write the success story of their first 25 years. Susan explains: “Prioritising the concerns of our staff and customers has helped us reach this milestone. They’re the best ambassadors for our products, and we aim to keep them satisfied for the next 25 years.”
