Teachers and students at the Norwich High School for Girls in Newmarket Road, had grown tired of the draughts, rattles, cracked panes and rotten sashes on their sixth form building, Lanchester House, and decided it was time for a change.
So when the decision was made to renovate the building’s 63 original sash windows back to their former glory, it was one welcomed by the girls and teaching staff at the school.
“As the school is located in a conservation area it was very important to choose a company that would respect the aesthetic properties of such an impressive building” said Building Surveyor for the Girls’ Day School Trust, Stephen Greenhalgh.
Having worked with Ventrolla on similar projects, Stephen was confident in the products available from the experts, including the Sash Removal System (SRS) and the unique Ventrolla Perimeter Sealing System (VPSS) for draught-proofing, which were both installed during the renovation.
Stephen added: “The windows have been wonderfully refurbished and look as good as new. I am always impressed with Ventrolla’s professionalism and craftsmanship.”
With over 30 years’ experience, Ventrolla offers a tailored range of period window solutions. Their unique service includes draught-proofing with the Ventrolla Perimeter Sealing System (VPSS) and fitting replacement double-glazed sashes that incorporate the patented Sash Removal System (SRS) for easy painting and future maintenance.
