Winlock furthers commitment to removing zinc-based products

Winlock Security has expanded their Lifetime Stainless Steel range as part of their commitment to removing zinc- based products from their portfolio. The UK door and window hardware manufacturer has launched a letterbox and a face-fixed escutcheon to complete a full suite of stainless steel door hardware. Explaining the development, Winlock Security’s Managing Director Alan Parker said: “We are continually being asked for a 10-year surface finish guarantee on door hardware which we are simply unable to provide on zinc handles. We have therefore taken the decision to drop zinc-plated or pvd-coated zinc handles from our range and concentrate on supplying stainless steel products which we know will give the corrosion resistance our customers and end users seek – even in exposed coastal environments. As a result we are now pleased to be able to offer 10-year or more surface finish guarantees across our entire range of door handles and letterplates.”

The full Winlock Lifetime Stainless Steel range now comprises:
• Lifetime Concealed Door Handle
• Lifetime Security TS007 2-star door handle Stronghold Security Fingerpull
• Lifetime Stainless Door Pulls
• Lifetime Face Fixed Escutcheon
• Duplex Stainless Steel Letterplate
All carry a 15-year surface finish guarantee, with the option of marine grade versions for all handles and door pulls which carry a 25-year surface finish guarantee.
