New manufacturer of PVC-U windows and doors opens factory in Worthing

Newview, one of the South’s longest established glazing installers has taken the bold step of opening the South’s first PVC-U window and door factory in a generation, right in the centre of Worthing one of the South coast’s largest and busiest towns! Called Newframe it will not only supply its own needs, but will also be supplying Tradesmen and Builders throughout the region.

Despite being back at work by June 2020 last year, Newview, as well as the whole glazing and construction industries became plagued with supply problems during lockdown as imports dried up; International companies shut down and prices sky-rocketed. Demand from homeowners for home improvements went through the roof and soon all of the National house builders for whom Newview work year long, were putting the pressure on their Trades to get back to work too.

Newview works on new housing sites throughout the home counties as well as for Heathrow Airport, Network Rail, London City Airport and soon, Luton Airport. Quality and customer service have been at the heart of the company, so much so that they hold ‘ISO’ -internationally recognised accredited standards in quality and also environmental management. So when the directors sat down after Christmas to review the impact of Covid on work practises and the staff, it became clear that taking control of their products and making them themselves was the only realistic course of action.

Fast forward 7 months and having secured the finance for the machines, Newview are now working from the 15,000 ft2 Newframe factory filled with nearly £1million worth of brand new machinery with the ability to make more than 500 eco-friendly Eurocell products every week plus their new own brand range of composite doors called ‘Coastal Composites’. With their own order book of 300 windows etc per week on average, this will give Newframe the opportunity to also serve local trade customers at unbeatable prices with faster lead times; Trade deals; less travel and made locally. Newview staff are at the heart of all operations and they were keen to start an apprenticeship scheme for young people as well as returners to work, or anyone wanting a different career path working for a locally owned family company.

The response has been overwhelming and puts paid to the assertion that factories are only up North! They are extremely lucky too to have recruited Mark White as Production Director for Newframe. Mark has more than 30 years experience in factory management and brings a wealth of industry expertise with him too. The future of Newview Installations and Newframe manufacturing is in safe hands and together with Duncan and Michele the founders, will help ensure the continued success of one of the South’s quietest success stories. Comments Duncan Wietscher, Sales Director: “Opening Newframe has been a lifelong dream for me ever since I first started fitting windows in Worthing when I was 16. With the backing of Building plastics leader Eurocell and Yale, plus the machinery, locking and glass companies we work with and our own Coastal Composites door range, we believe we can offer something not seen in our Industry before – a commercial ethical window factory in the heart of the south with family at its core and products Made in Britain. What better legacy could Michele and I hope for?”
