23 Doors invests in FOM CNC technology to support continued growth

Aluminium fabricator 23 Doors has further strengthened its manufacturing capabilities with the installation of a FOM Industrie FMC 120 CNC Machining Centre from Haffner.

The investment forms part of the next phase of growth for 23 Doors, which manufactures a comprehensive range of bespoke aluminium bifolding doors, sliding doors, entrance doors, windows and rooflights from its Manchester-based factory.

As 23 Doors continues to grow, increased automation is playing an important role in supporting greater production volumes while maintaining the quality and consistency on which the company has built its reputation.

Peter Colclough, Director at 23 Doors, said: “The FMC 120 is an important investment for us and will support the next phase of our growth. Increasing our machining capability will allow us to further improve our output and efficiency.”

“The machine installation went extremely well, and it has been a pleasure dealing with Haffner throughout the project. The team made the whole process very straightforward and we are delighted with the machine.”

The FOM Industrie FMC 120 is a three-axis CNC machining centre designed to carry out drilling and milling operations on aluminium profiles. Its pneumatically positioned worktable operates at 0°, 90° and 180°, allowing machining on three sides of the profile.

The machine combines precision CNC technology with a compact footprint, making it particularly suited to growing aluminium fabricators looking to increase automation, productivity and machining consistency.

Mike Moulds, Business Development Manager at Haffner, commented: “23 Doors is a progressive aluminium fabricator and the FMC 120 is an excellent fit for the business. It gives Peter and his team the additional machining capacity they need today, with the flexibility to support their future production requirements.”

The FMC 120 is manufactured by FOM Industrie, one of the world’s leading aluminium machinery specialists, for whom Haffner is the official UK partner.

The latest installation further demonstrates Haffner’s ability to support aluminium fabricators with machinery solutions designed around their individual production requirements and longer-term growth ambitions.
