Aluplast agrees a new supply deal with fabricator Weatherglaze

Aluplast has agreed a new supply deal with Weatherglaze for its cutting-edge Ideal 4000 system and its new Lift-an-Slide door. Operating from Gorey, just South of Dublin on east coast, Weatherglaze is one of Ireland’s leading fabricators, suppling windows and doors throughout the Republic.

The addition of the Ideal 4000 and Lift-and-Slide comes as the manufacture gears up for growth and looks to access new opportunities generated by PVC-U/aluminium cross-over products delivered by aluskin, aluplast’s innovative external aluminium fascia system.

Jim Dempsey, Chairman, Weatherglaze, said: “aluskin gives the Ideal 4000 and the aluplast Lift-and-Slide a lot of retail and commercial appeal. It delivers a strong aesthetic, is very energy efficient – far more energy efficient than aluminium – it allows us to combine price and performance and we expect it to deliver new opportunity to our customers.”

aluplast launched the Ideal 4000 and its new Lift-and-Slide door last year [2017]. The former is defined by a contemporary ‘SquareLine’ finish. It’s also Part Q approved, achieving a WER A rating in either its’ standard PVC-U, foiled or aluskin forms.

The modular aluplast 85mm Lift-and-Slide door system, was also added to its offer last year. It delivers u-values as low as 0.65 W/m2K, meeting Passive Haus standards, is capable of spanning openings of 6.5m X 2.8m, while also delivers manufacturing time efficiencies of up to 40% over comparable systems.

“The Ideal 4000 and our Lift-and-Slide door are available in aluskin, our innovative ‘click-and-fix’ aluminium-cladding system”, explained Ian Cocken, Director of Sales and Marketing, aluplast. “It’s relatively new to the UK and Ireland but draws on proven technologies, guaranteeing through-life performance.

“It means that Ideal 4000 in aluskin is not only the first but remains the only true aluminium-clad casement window available in the UK and Ireland. The Lift-and-Slide door it allows our customers to deliver some incredible u-values in a very flexible, cost effective and modular system.”

aluplast has recently further refined this offer with the addition of a new grey substrate option. “As a foundation for aluskin or grey foils it’s the logical choice, delivering a far stronger aesthetic”, added Cocken.
