Cortizo introduces a new 45 mm sash for the bi-fold system: a solution that reduces the sightlines of the central meeting stile to just 100 mm, maximizing the glazed surface area and filling interior spaces with natural light.
In this way, the possibilities of this well-established system on the market are expanded. It features a thermal break and a 73 mm frame depth. This solution is ideal for enclosing large openings in both residential and commercial spaces, facilitating the transition between indoor and outdoor areas. In addition, it allows multiple combinations of even and odd numbers of sashes, configurations of up to 14 sashes (with a maximum of 7 folding to each side), and both inward and outward opening options. It also includes the possibility of creating 90º corner configurations without a mullion.
The bi-fold system supports sash weights of up to 120 kg and maximum dimensions of 1200 by 3000 mm, making it possible to cover openings of nearly 17 metres in width. The rollers and tracks are concealed, providing a clean aesthetic when the system is closed. In addition, it offers the possibility of a fully recessed threshold, improving accessibility.
This system features a maximum glazing capacity of 45 mm, providing outstanding thermal and acoustic performance. All these features are reinforced by the excellent results achieved in AEV testing: Class 4 (air permeability), Class 9A (watertightness), and Class A3 (wind resistance). In addition, it has successfully exceeded the demanding requirements of the British PAS 24:2012 security certification.
This new minimalist sash is now available in Cortizo’s Croydon and Leeds showrooms, where customers and architects can experience its features and applications firsthand.
