Origin invests in a new warehouse facility to support supply chain

UK manufacturer of bespoke aluminium doors and windows, Origin, has invested in a new warehouse facility, located in Bicester, to maintain its supply chain and manufacturing excellence, and futureproof the business against economic and environmental uncertainties. Unpredictability caused by Brexit border issues and COVID-19 supply delays, as well as increased sales, greater productivity, and more Partners on board than ever before, has led to Origin taking on the 55,000ft2 warehouse facility.

Consisting of two units, the new space will be used by Origin’s supply and logistics teams to stock significant volumes of aluminium profile and components, and to maintain the business’ daily production at its manufacturing facility in High Wycombe. With such significant investment in stock and storage, this latest addition reinforces Origin’s commitment to its Partners, ensuring they never miss an install day and can continue specifying with confidence.

Affectionately known as ‘the Ark’, the intention of this extra storage and investment in stock means that Origin are quietly confident to be able to weather future uncertainty – whether through pandemics or Brexit – to ensure that manufacturing and delivering on promises can continue, no matter the macroeconomic backdrop.

Daniel Baker, MD at Origin, comments: “At Origin, our Partners are the beating heart of our business, and we want to make their lives as simple and easy as possible. A large part of this is by supporting them across all areas of their operations, including product delivery. As many people will already know, we work very hard to create strong relationships with our supply chain, and we have invested heavily in additional stock, futureproofing us and our Partners against any uncertainty down the line. Our investment in this new facility is the latest demonstration of our commitment to them and their businesses, ensuring they continue to receive our products no matter the demand or situation.

“As a top employer in Buckinghamshire, it is also an exciting time for us as we look to create new roles throughout the Origin family in and around Bicester. We hope that with The Ark up and running, we can accelerate our Partners’ businesses, whilst also reaffirming Origin’s position as one of the best manufacturers in the country.”
