Reynaers introduces first GQA Accredited training course in curtain walling

Reynaers Aluminium UK has become an Approved GQA Training Centre, now offering its first course – ‘An Introduction to Curtain Walling (CW 50)’ – designed to guide professional competency in fabrication and installation of Reynaers ConceptWall 50 curtain wall system.

With a renewed emphasis on accountability and competency driven by The Building Safety Act, Reynaers Aluminium UK, a leading supplier of sustainable architectural aluminium systems, plans to extend its existing comprehensive training offering with a wide range of GQA-accredited courses that will reinforce industry standards and product knowledge. These will be rolled out over the coming months.

As an industry-recognised awarding body, GQA certification provides those participating in Reynaers’ training courses with the opportunity to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skills in accordance with regulatory standards and guidance – and provide evidence of competency to customers and employers.

This new course from Reynaers provides an overview of its CW 50 curtain walling system, with participants gaining a thorough understanding of system design and applications. A key objective of the course is for participants to develop an understanding of curtain walling from design to installation, with a focus on design possibilities, and theory-based guidance of fabrication and installation

Reynaers’ CW 50 curtain wall system has been developed to suit a wide range of applications and styles thanks to its large spans and high weight load bearing of up to 700kg. This stick façade system includes high insulation variations thanks to thermal breaks, which allow it to achieve energy efficiency up to Passive House levels – making it a leading product choice for low impact construction.

Chris Newman, Product Development and Engineering Manager at Reynaers Aluminium UK, said: “CW 50 is an incredibly popular curtain walling system that is widely specified for a variety of projects, particularly those requiring a low impact product and ones that are sustainably led. Our new course will allow participants to increase their knowledge of this system, as well as enhance their expertise around curtain walling processes.

“Importantly the course gives participants the tools to mitigate risks around curtain walling and ensure building performance, structural integrity and occupant safety to the highest possible standard. By outlining what best practice means in design, specification and installation, we can fill any knowledge gaps that could potentially challenge the integrity of each system and ensure specification is right first-time.

“Reynaers is committed to supporting its partners by providing access to a host of training opportunities, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to create sustainable, innovative, and visually striking architectural solutions – and our recent certification as a GQA-Accredited Training Centre enhances our toolkit to do just that.”
