During his visit to Distinction Doors, His Royal Highness was given a complete tour of the facilities and met key members of staff who explained the scale of the company’s operations. Prior to officially opening the paint plant, The Earl of Wessex watched a door being sprayed. The visit ended with The Earl unveiling a plaque to commemorate his visit to Distinction Doors before signing the company’s Visitors’ Book.
Chantel Roach says the visit was suggested by The Earl’s office, who contacted Distinction Doors to suggest a visit. Chantel said, “It was a wonderful surprise to be contacted by His Royal Highness’s office. It was felt that Distinction Doors represented a great success story and was therefore very appealing for an official royal visit.”
Distinction Door’s paint plant opened only a few months ago and the 1000th door to be painted recently left production. The move to bring painting in house has proved very successful for Distinction, the UK’s largest composite door company, improving quality, lead times and cost in this area.
The company celebrated ten years in business last year and is enjoying unparalleled success. As well as being the UK’s largest composite door company, it was also named in the London Stock Exchange Group’s 1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain for the second year in a row and was also listed in the 2015 Sunday Times Fast Track 100 list, which ranks Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing sales over three years.
