Wolfgang Gorner, Sales Director of Epwin Window Systems

Wolfgang Gorner, one of the window, door and conservatory industry’s most experienced and respected executives, has joined Epwin Window Systems as Sales Director.

Following a career in the window industry spanning 14 years Gorner left to pursue a senior role in another sector and returns after a two-year sojourn. He joins Managing Director of Epwin Window Systems Clare O’Hara in what she describes as ‘a real coup for us and our customers.’

Wolfgang will have responsibility for overseeing the sales and marketing of the key systems brands of Profile 22, Spectus and Swish, which between them command more than 16% of the UK systems market, with strong penetration of all key sectors. It is the most senior appointment made by Clare and signals, she says, extraordinary commitment to achieve some extraordinary goals: “We have ambitious plans for each of our brands and we need the best people in the business to achieve them. Wolfgang remains one of the best known and most popular names in the business and brings with him huge experience and proven leadership. I am delighted that he is joining us at Epwin. Our customers can take his appointment as further evidence of our commitment to them.”

Wolfgang Gorner added: “When I was approached by Epwin and heard what they had to say about the investment and plans for the future I could not resist the opportunity to join the company. Epwin and its associated brands have always been a major force within the industry. Having seen the plans the clear goal is to make Epwin the number one choice for UK and Irish fabricators and installers and I am delighted to join Clare and the team to help make this a reality.

“I am really excited about returning to the window business. It has provided me with the ideal opportunity to rejoin a market that I have long been passionate about. I’m am also delighted to be joining a Group that is British financed and controlled, in an industry dominated by overseas parents. There is real investment being made both in new products and new technologies, the most ambitious from any extruder for many years and beginning in September my intention is to get around to our customers as soon as possible to tell them about these extraordinary plans.”
