Aluplast set to double capacity with new £26m production facility

Aluplast remains on target to start production at its latest, state-of-the-art facility by the second quarter of 2022. The new factory, which is currently being constructed on a 15-hectare site at Nagradowice, Poland, at a cost of around £26million, will include a production hall, a raw material mixing plant as well as technical and R&D facilities.

Servicing the UK and Europe, the new facility, which will have the potential to house up 50 twin extrusion lines, will double Aluplast’s already extensive manufacturing capacity. The first stage of the new factory, which includes a 183,000ft2 warehouse, was completed at the end of 2019 and has been in use for over a year.

“The scale of our existing manufacturing capability, which includes a huge amount of investment in foiling has meant that we have been very well placed to ‘weather the storm’ of the last 18 months,” said Ian Cocken, Director of Sales and Marketing, Aluplast.

“We have been able to maintain a strong level of supply, despite raw material shortages, and compared to some of our competitors, we have done so while keeping our surcharges to an absolute minimum.

“We’ve been particularly well placed to deliver on increasing demand for foiled product, with high levels of our core stock finishes available ‘on the ground’ in the UK,” he continued. “That’s been a key driver for growth for our customers throughout the home improvement boom, who have been able to take advantage of growing consumer interest for colour and foiled finishes.”

Aluplast’s existing production facility, which houses advanced foiling lines and CNC foiling technology, can already process over 90,000m of foiled profile every day. This allows it to produce a high volume of product, with over 40 finishes available, and to a very high quality.

“We have enjoyed strong growth over the last 24 months, and we have significantly expanded our market share into the UK,” Cocken concluded. “That’s due to the strength of our resources, our leading colour offer and the quality of our product. Our new, even larger production facility that is due to come online by Summer next year, is going to further enhance our capacity and our ability to service our growing UK and Ireland customer base.”
