Comp Door unveils its revolutionised solid timber core composite doors

FIT Show 2022 provided the perfect launch pad for new manufacturer, Comp Door, to unveil its revolutionised solid timber core composite doors. Beginning with a well-attended press event, the Comp Door stand buzzed with visitors for the entire three days of the trade show, with installers eager to see the market-changing composite doors and meet the experts behind them.

There were 11 Comp Doors displayed on the stand, showing just a few of the limitless design possibilities available with a wide choice of styles, colours hardware and glazing options. This included a concept door with an aluminium frame that was met with such enthusiastic feedback that it will be put into production very soon. In fact, the ambitious new business plans to release at least one new innovation every 3 months in order to lead the way in composite door trends.

Most praise from the installers

Speaking after the event, Sales Director Richard Diliberto said: “Without a doubt it was Comp Door’s auto-fire latch that won the most praise from the installers that visited our stand at FIT Show. The automatic multi-point locking system features four self-locking deadbolt latches to give maximum security and keep the door latched at all times over the full height of the door, helping to minimise thermal movement. And as it requires no homeowner intervention, as with a single latch and lift lever, it eliminates the chance of the door not being secured properly. It’s surprising how many end users are unaware of the need to lift the lever every time they close their door and the damage that can be caused in not doing so.

“Installers were quick to appreciate the benefits of the auto-fire latch feature in how it will help to reduce the number of call- backs they receive from customers reporting faults, in turn freeing up their time to generate more new business and revenue. And more happy customers are more likely to lead to more recommendations and referrals.”

Comp Door has started as it means to go on, to always be one step ahead, by being the first solid timber core on the market to achieve a U-value of just 1.4 W/m²k, which will soon be a requirement in order to comply with new regulations due to come into effect on 15  June 2022. This has been achieved by Comp Door’s premium cross-laminated Albasia Falcata timber core and industry-first TriSeal frame. Adding an extra seal on the door frame gives optimum weatherproofing and reduces the chance of air leakage.

Innovative design features

Comp Door also includes innovative design features for improved aesthetics that will delight the end user, such as InvisiEdge, the technically advanced edge-band technique that gives a seamless colour edge to the door faces, rather than a visible white edge. Quality and performance are paramount at Comp Door. Richard continues: “We use automation in the bonding process of each door skin because we believe it’s the best way to eliminate the possibility of human error, which can happen to even the most experienced and well-trained person. Through our automated process, ADHEER (Advanced Hydro Electric Equalised Release), we reduce delamination and achieve the best possible result on every door. And thanks to our revolutionary, high performance CoolSkin door skin technology, customers can be assured that their door will stay looking great for years to come as its solar deflective layer helps to prevent the door skin from wear, cracking or fading.”
