From Pig Sheds to Stellar Bungalows

Stellar Aluminium windows and doors from Epwin Window Systems were selected for a truly astonishing property conversion – two former pig sheds in Ingatestone, Essex, have been converted into two luxury bungalows. In total, 35 Stellar Flush Casement Windows and three French Doors were manufactured for the properties by Prestige Aluminium and installed by local installer V. Fullalove Installations Ltd.

Stellar Aluminium Flush Casement Windows are renowned for their high-end flush aesthetics. The patented knock-in glazing beads leave a clean gasket line that lifts the high-quality finish even further. In this project, the windows were manufactured in Anthracite Grey to provide a dramatic contrast to the original brickwork of the pig sheds. 

From the Building Regulations perspective, Stellar has helped the properties achieve the required thermal and security performance requirements. It’s Part L-compliant by design, even in new build properties, thanks to the patented reverse butt joint. This innovation means there’s no need for dummy sashes, reverse profiles or adaptors which reduces the amount of frame and increases the thermal efficiency.
