Modplan launches new Veka Imagine bi-fold door

Modplan is just about to launch the Imagine Bi-Fold Door and Heidi Sachs, Modplan’s Managing Director is delighted with what it has to offer. “The door has been developed in for the UK market. It’s also been created from the ground up – every element is newly designed and there’s no ‘making do’. The result is a stunning door that will genuinely revolutionise the bi-fold door market.”

The Imagine Bi-Fold Door offers excellence in every area, including aesthetics, thermal efficiency, security and fabricator and installer benefits, so it’s hardly surprising that Heidi is so confident that the door will take the market by storm.

In terms of aesthetics, the door has a contemporary, clean look with slimmer sightlines. The in line track means no unsightly fixing to the outside of the outerframe, as well as offering improved weight distribution, while the low profile handle design means there is only a 21mm gap between fully opened leaves, improving the appearance when open. It is available in 16 Veka Variations colours, two of which (Rosewood and Golden Oak) are available ex stock. Sculptured or bevelled sashes and beads offer the consumer additional choice, as do the three threshold options and choice of gasket, hinge, magnet and handle colours. With a maximum width of 6000mm, door height of 2400mm and sash of 1000mm, the door offers versatility in a wide variety of settings.

The Imagine Bi-Fold Door also offers outstanding thermal efficiency and achieves the highest DESR ratings available, in part thanks to the five chamber sash and six chamber outerframe. In fact, when triple glazed, the door has a U value of less than 1.0. The door has been fully tested to BS6375: Part 1 Weather and BS 6375: Part 2 Durability and passed with flying colours.

The door is fitted with custom-designed ERA hardware which is backed by the ERA 5* Security Guarantee for homeowners. The door is PAS24 and Secured by Design accredited as standard, with no modifications required. Bi-directional hook locks and adjustable locks and shootbolts provide additional security, while there is dedicated locking on 2-2 doors and optional keylocking on auxiliary doors.

While the door has a wealth of attractions for homeowners, making it an important addition to any portfolio, fabricators and installers will also find a long list of clever features that make life easier for them. Both the profile and hardware are supplied by the Veka UK Group, making it easy to order and shortening lead times. The option of a fully welded or mechanically jointed outerframe makes it ideal for difficult to access properties. The hinges are fully adjustable in situ, while the 2D adjustable lock means there’s no need to remove the sash to adjust it and makes it quicker to set in the factory. The corner block self-locating top and bottom hinge and roller unit mean no jig drilling and less work because the only drilling required is on the centre sash.

In short, the Imagine Bi-Fold Door represents a new generation of bi-fold door and will set the standard for some years to come.
