Winkhaus hails ‘hugely successful’ 2019 FIT Show
Leading hardware specialist Winkhaus reported that the 2019 FIT Show has been ‘hugely successful’, generating numerous serious enquiries for its high-quality locking systems, including the latest AV3-E autoLock range suitable for all market sectors.
Throughout the three days, the Winkhaus team was kept busy interacting with many existing and potential customers on the stand where industry feedback, technical and new business enquiries were shared in a convivial atmosphere.
Commenting on the event, Mike Rushen, Winkhaus UK Sales Director said: “We were impressed with the professionalism of visitors to the stand and their relevance to our industry as well as the sectors – trade, retail, fire and security markets – in which we operate. Our products cover various door types in a multi sector marketplace – and the show’s visitors reflected those key audiences and our markets.”
Winkhaus emphasised its commitment to the Fire Door market by being one of the first manufacturers in this sector to offer products that comply with EN1634-1:2014 CE requirements for Fire Doorsets.
The company introduced its new FD30/FD60 Fire & Security composite and timber doorset solutions that have passed rigorous BS EN1634 Fire Resistance and Smoke Control, and PAS24 security testing – a long-term ‘future-proofed’ safety solution meeting the latest MHCLH requirements to prove compliance with Approved Document B requiring fire compliance from both sides of the doorset.
Late-night Tuesday was a highlight with the ‘Tap and Tonic’ party creating one of the busiest stands at the show. Many visitors lingered later to enjoy Winkhaus’ legendary hospitality, complemented with Gin and Tonics, German craft beers, music and the Prize Draw. First prize went to Leigh Umney of Bedford Bi-Folds Ltd and second prize to Pierre Mifsud of Solidor with both winning Virgin Experience Day Vouchers.
Stand visitors expressed much interest in Winkhaus’ newest addition to its autoLock collection, the AV3-E Heritage Plus that is designed for 21st century living, combining a modern multi-point locking system with enhanced visual style. Key features include its Heritage eye-level cylinder position and a new centre latch, providing superior operation and weather resistance.
Mike continued: “The industry has undergone much change over the last 10 to 15 years, with a resurgence in the aluminium and timber door markets. Serving all these markets with high-quality locking systems opens up fresh opportunities for us – and the level of enquiries we received at the show reflects this heightened interest.”
He added: “The challenge is to be one step ahead, look at the products needed in 10 years’ time and respond to changing needs. At Winkhaus, innovation and new product development is our strength and we will continue to deliver the locking solutions designed for both current and future markets.”
