Winmac’s high calibre team delivers excellence
Winmac UK is constantly evaluating its service to customers and this is never more evident than in its passion for providing a high calibre team of field service engineers
The Winmac name has always been synonymous with the supply of premium machinery for the fabrication of PVC-U windows and doors. At the heart of the company’s impressive reputation has been its long-standing association with ROTOX. Spanning over 20 years, this relationship has prospered ever since the launch of the groundbreaking ROTOX EKA 370 corner transom cleaner. Today, Winmac supplies a comprehensive range of ROTOX machinery designed for the modern-day manufacturer of PVC-U windows and doors. Joint Managing Directors Kevin Noray and Rob Hopper believe this partnership is central to the positioning of Winmac as a leading supplier of production machinery to a host of household names in the PVC-U fabrication sector: “The PVC-U sector is a rapidly evolving sector with fabricators under constant pressure to improve quality and efficiencies. Time and time again ROTOX machinery has supported these companies in achieving their production targets. Fabricators are constantly evaluating and upgrading their PVC-U manufacturing facilities, and this is where Winmac’s and ROTOX’s expertise is proving invaluable.”
Winmac has been relentless in this support for customers and has been fully occupied installing the latest ROTOX quad welders, high speed welding and cleaning lines and corner cleaners throughout the pandemic. This activity shows little sign of abating as a flurry of customers are switching onto the benefits of upgrading their production lines. This would not be possible without a highly regarded and respected team of field service engineers. Kevin strongly believes Winmac wouldn’t be the company it is today without its team of experienced engineers: “We are incredibility proud of our engineers and the work they do to support our customers. Winmac is so much more than the machines we supply, the people within the organisation really make Winmac the leading supplier it is today. As a forward thinking company it is imperative we build on the talented team we have. As part of our business plan we have placed a high emphasis on recruiting the right talent to drive Winmac forward. No better example of this is our recent recruitment drive for field service engineers to work alongside our invaluable experienced team.”
Jason Ruston (pictured) is a fine example of the calibre of new field service engineers Winmac is attracting. With a vast experience in a number industries outside the window industry, including food processing, Jason has hit the ground running. With his year anniversary at Winmac on the horizon, Jason is pleased with the way things have gone: He told Windows Active: “It’s been an unusual year, however in many ways it has aided my rapid learning experience as I have been able to work with customers side by side with Winmac’s team of experienced engineers such as Dave J. This had been invaluable as I have become accustomed to working with the machines in situ. We have such a comprehensive range of machines and getting to install and see them in action in the field is invaluable. It’s been a very hands-on experience, which really accelerated my learning process.”
Jason is a fine example of the new breed of engineers Winmac is attracting as the business evolves. Rob expands on this development: “At Winmac are always looking at fresh approaches that will enhance our offering and service to customers. When it comes to the recruitment of service engineers we are very selective and look to focus on key skills. We tend to now select highly educated engineers who have backgrounds in electronics and robotics. This allows a fresh approach and enables our engineers to tune into the Winmac way of engineering. Jason is a fine example of this, having come from outside the industry. We are welcoming another new engineer shortly who also follows this recruitment process pattern. By following this path we can create a team that is unique to Winmac and one that enters the industry with new ideas and knowledge. By working alongside our existing experienced team of service engineers they can then tailor their talents to the Winmac methodology.”
