Glazerite’s expansion is supporting installers
Glazerite’s Jeff Dunn shares how the fabricator’s decision to add Deceuninck to its portfolio and open its new Yorkshire-based site benefits installers, whatever their end market
As one of the largest trade fabricators in the UK, we work with hundreds of installers of every shape and size. To help ensure they can complete fault-free installs for domestic and commercial projects wherever they are located, we combine the fabrication of more than 3500 frames per week in state-of-the-art facilities with a robust delivery service to keep our customers ahead of the game.
As part of our growth strategy, we are always looking at ways we can deepen and expand our portfolio too, from profile systems to innovation in smart technology or hardware design.
In 2023 we worked closely with Deceuninck to bring its 2500 and 2800 products into our offering, with the aim of giving our installers even more choice. At the same time, we made the decision to strengthen our UK operations footprint, with the opening of our site in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
With existing operations in Bolton and Wellingborough, where our Veka product range and much of our heritage portfolio is crafted, and our Peterborough site, where we fabricate Halo and now Deceuninck products, it was important to us that our new site would embody the same values and commitment to delivering high-quality windows and doors.
We made the decision to focus the Barnsley operations on the fabrication of the Deceuninck 2500 and 2800 portfolio, which includes casement, tilt & turn windows and residential and French doors, and set about creating a purpose-built facility in just a few months. Now up and running, the fully equipped 30,000 ft² facility is a hive of activity, with 25 dedicated employees. Our aim is to triple that number by the end of the year, with capacity set to hit 500 frames per week. Come 2025, we expect that figure to double, reaching 1000 frames per week.
Opening our Yorkshire site was much needed as we have many installers across the area. It is also home to a great workforce of skilled fabricators who are committed to servicing our customer base with high quality products.
The decision to focus solely on the fabrication of Deceuninck, which is renowned for its reliability and long-lasting performance, also enables our team to build up a depth of expertise and knowledge of the product. In turn, that means Glazerite can better meet installer needs, whether that’s a largescale commercial project or a smaller bespoke job.
Having access to a broad range of portfolio systems also means we can offer installers the ability to bid competitively for larger commercial projects.
Both our Peterborough and Barnsley sites, like our other operations, are underpinned with solid investment into machinery and people. This gives our installers’ reassurance that they are backed by a futureproofed fabricator able and willing to continually improve on and invest in operations to meet present demands – and scale up when necessary.
Meanwhile, our installers have peace of mind that Deceuninck’s 2500 and 2800 ranges deliver everything they need in today’s competitive market – style and elegance, a choice of colours, and A+ energy rating windows with the reassurance that the product is fully recyclable and comes backed with our comprehensive 10-year guarantee.
Installers in the Barnsley area can now also benefit from our local trade service with advice and guidance from our experienced staff, frame storage for ease of collection, and a PVC-U and glass recycling service. Our full range of brochures are also available to pick up along with any samples installers may need for jobs.
As Glazerite goes from strength to strength in size, performance and portfolio, we are also continually expanding our added value solutions, from technical advice on commercial projects to marketing support for installers who may not have access to in-house marketing expertise.
