Over the last few months, readers of Windows Active have been introduced to the revolutionary Penwood new profile system, designed, developed, manufactured and patented by ADOPEN Inc. Importantly, ADOPEN has an impressive track record in the UK dating back to 2005. Kemal Aktepe, Director, Business Development explains: “We started to extrude PVC-U profiles for British window and door fabricator BHD in 2005 and exported these profiles to BHD in the UK and to their Czech Republic window and door supplier VPO. After a few years of supplying PVC-U profile to BHD they decided to outsource their fabrication of finished pre-hung french, front and rear doors to our manufacturing facility in Turkey. The doors were then supplied to the UK’s two leading DIY stores.”
The relationship with BHD continued until it was taken over by Laird, and then ADOPEN started to supply Best Value Conservatories until that company went into liquidation. With an impressive reputation for supplying high volumes of product, ADOPEN was keen to develop further its supply arrangements with the market leaders in the DIY retailer sector. Notably, these products were being sold by the outlets to increasing numbers of tradesmen. Kemal continues: “We have continued to supply the UK’s leading names in DIY directly through logistic service provider Premium Timber. Today we are supplying pre-hung french, front and rear doors and are proud of the fact we have supplied hundreds of thousands of these quality products in the UK since 2005.”
Kemal and the team at ADOPEN continue to target the UK market and are keen to develop relationships with fabricators. Currently, the company offers unlimited opening solutions to its customers with its 22 different profile systems. These include 18 different casement systems ranging from 50mm to 80mm and 6 different sliding systems ranging from lift and slide to parallel sliding. Focus is also currently directed at promoting the revolutionary new product Penwood, a product that Kemal believes is perfect for the UK: “Our R&D team has developed the revolutionary Penwood profile with a PVC-U skin and composite core mainly to reduce carbon emissions, to have much better sound insulation and, by eliminating the use of metal reinforcement, window manufacturers are able to increase their productivity by up to 25% through a much easier and faster production process with no need to process metal reinforcement.”
ADOPEN has a host of fenestration solutions, including PVC-U, Penwood and hardware, available to UK fabricators. For the high-end of the market a new wide range of 80mm Penwood series has been developed with 6 chambers, 3 gaskets and suitable for triple glazing up to 44mm and will be available in the market in trendy colors at the end of 2019.
