In the face of continuing pressure from Covid-19 G-Awards postponed until 2021

The organisers of the G-Awards has announced that the planned 2020 event has had to be postponed until next year in the face of continuing pressure from Covid-19 and the ongoing lockdown. Organiser Tony Higgin said: “This was not an easy decision to make but, apart from the uncertainty over safety procedures in the immediate future, we realise that many companies will still be badly bruised by the effects of the lockdown and will have many more distractions in life than putting in the time and effort to prepare a submission.

“This is also one of the biggest event of its kind in the industry, including the gala dinner for more than 600 people, as well as the complex process of the professional independent judging, so we feel it would be the right choice to put it back in order to return at full scale next year.”

The event, originally intended for Friday, November 27th at the London Hilton on Park Lane, will now take place on the equivalent November 26th 2021 at the same venue. Tony Higgin added: “We only came to the decision after extensive discussions with various members of the industry and organisers of similar events. We are disappointed of course but feel this is the only way to do justice to what has become such a major event in the industry calendar. We will now be more than ready next year to raise the roof and celebrate the very best in our industry in the way that only the G-Awards can.”
