Kestrel launches bespoke aluminium sliding patio door systems

The Kestrel bespoke sliding patio door system has been launched to provide a contemporary alternative to french windows and folding sliding doors. Its space-saving design has minimal sightlines, sleek profile faces effectively creating a dramatic, removable wall which maximises use of natural light while providing uninterrupted views outdoors. Available as either a traditional inline sliding door or with lift and slide gearing, the latter being available with either a double or triple track. The inline sliding door has eight multipoint security locks and anti-lift blocks while the triple track lift and slide system is ideal for large architectural projects, using doors weighing up to 400kg. Maximum leaf height is 2300mm for the inline version and 2500mm for lift and slide, all versions having a soft closer option for safety and ease of use. Single or dual powder coating can be specified in any RAL colour.

The company has also introduced a PAS 24-accredited folding sliding door system in a range of hardware colours and configurations. These include opening in or out, with a floating external corner or floating mullion and left, right or split. Doors are available with double, triple or acoustic glazing in thicknesses from 28-32mm. The system has been rigorously tested to 25,000 cycles (BS EN 1527) for heights of up to 2700mm and widths up to 1000mm. The range is completed by a corner folding sliding door system which enables an entire corner to be ‘swept away’ using a slimline, moving corner post. Using a structural steel support, it is available with either flush or rebate track. Configurations of 1-2, 3-2 and 5-2/4/6 and a choice of cill and bead design options are available.
