Multi-million-pound investment in new manufacturing space by Emplas

Emplas has continued its multi-million-pound investment programme with the addition of a new 25,000 ft² of space at its Wellingborough manufacturing hub.

Part of its infrastructure investment strategy, the purpose-built manufacturing facility will house the fabricator’s expanding composite door offer, new product lines, offices and additional warehousing.

The release of space within its pre-existing 57,000 ft² facility, also triggers a second strand to Emplas’ strategy, including changes to its manufacturing lines to accommodate new machinery and to further optimise production.

Jody Vincent, Sales Director, Emplas said: “We’re seeing continuing growth and its vital that we ensure that we match that with continuing investment to allow us to build on our offer but most importantly, guarantee service and quality to our existing customers.

“The addition of a dedicated composite door facility will support us in further expanding our composites offer – but critically, in a sustainable way.

“Our new manufacturing unit also gives us the infrastructure to expand our product offer in the future.”

Due to open later this year, its’ new facility follows the £3million investment in the expansion of its original footprint made by Emplas in 2018. This included a 16,000 ft extension of its factory floor with the addition of new warehousing, loading bays and offices.

Emplas also added its’ Padiham IGU facility to its real estate portfolio that year, announcing multi-million investment in machinery.

This included the £1million investment in a new Forel Vertical IGU line this year, taking its IGU capacity to 15,000 units a week.

“We’re at a point of change”, continued Jody. “The market is moving forward at pace and we need to adapt with it.

“This includes investment in our manufacturing facilities but also our product and service offer, so that our customers can always get the products that they want, when they need them, at the right price and the right support.”
