20 years supplying premium window and door machinery

With a proven track record for supplying premium machinery to window and door fabricators going back 20 years, Winmac is heading into 2020 looking to reinforce its position as a market-leading supplier of PVC-U and aluminium machinery. Priding itself on providing an unrivalled range of machines back-up by experienced support, the company has constantly evolved over its 20 years in business. By placing customers at the heart of everything they do, Winmac has become the machinery partner of choice for many of the leading fabricators in the UK and Ireland.

The company’s reputation was forged in its early years with the launch of the groundbreaking Rotox EKA 379 corner transom cleaner. Managing Director David Stone believes this machine represented the ‘making of Winmac’: “The EKA 379 was our flagship offering to the market at the time. We started off with 20 orders in the first year which soon increased to 40+ the year after. In total we have supplied over 300 of these machines. What made it so special and unique was its ability to clean corners and transoms. We had developed it exclusively with Rotox and were able to patent some of the units on the machine, this really gave us a massive competitive advantage and soon the EKA 379 was acknowledged as the best machine available.”

Reacting to the changing face of the market, Winmac has enhanced its offering to customers by providing a range of high quality aluminium machines. Sitting beside their well respected range of PVC-U machinery from Rotox and Schirmer, the company now offers Pertici and Schirmer aluminium machinery. Winmac’s UK Sales Manager Rob Hopper is all too aware of the growing importance of aluminium having spent a number of years of his distinguished career in the machinery sector heading up sales in this area: “We carried out an audit on the supply of aluminium machinery as we were very aware the window and door fabrication industry was witnessing a movement towards aluminium products. We were not looking at shifting our business model away from PVC-U machinery supply, this will always be our main focus. However, we needed to support our current and potential customers in their aluminium machinery needs. These customers were looking to purchase their machines elsewhere, only because at the time we weren’t offering aluminium machines. When they dealt with other suppliers, the majority told us how superior our service was and could we look at supplying aluminium machines…which was extremely pleasing. They had got used to the ‘Winmac Way, of doing things.”
